This little fella gave me a run for my money!  Landon is 17 months and full of energy!  :)  His grandmother was one of my favorite people when I worked at Gulfstream and I was thrilled when she contacted me to take her beautiful grandson’s portraits!

Wanda – no worries!  More to come soon!  Thank you guys for a fun afternoon!  :)

Sneak Peek | Alex’s Senior Session | Savannah, GA Photographer

March 25, 2010

I had so much fun yesterday!!  Wandering around downtown SAV with Alex, who’s a Senior at Richmond Hill High.  I’m sure he was totally cracking up at what a dork I am (inwardly, of course…  he has entirely too much class to laugh AT me, right??) *L*  ;)  I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m just not cool enough for the younger generation anymore. *sigh*  Either way, he was a good sport and didn’t roll his eyes at me when I was terrified at climbing the narrow fire escape or when I almost ran someone over with my car, or when I was running from the hobos…  not really…  inside joke. ;)

Just a quick sneak peek at this awesome session!! More to come next week!  (got to admit – I LOVED this guy’s shoes!!!!!  He was totally rockin out those moccasins and now I want a pair!!)

Logo Design | Jenny Thomas Photography | Savannah, GA Graphic Designer

March 21, 2010

Yes, folks….  I am still a designer. *L*  I know I’ve been wearing my ‘photography’ hat for some time now, but let’s not forget that I’m a multi-talented gal here! ;)  When I got an e-mail from Jenny of Jenny Thomas Photography, asking if I could help with designing her new logo or knew someone who could…  I jumped at the chance!  Our mutual friend, Wes, passed my name to her and one thing led to another.  Lemme tell ya – this gal is AMAZING at what she does – and what she does best is SENIOR photography!!  Jenny was looking for a new logo and a fresh look after she came off of her maternity leave and it was my challenge to come up with something that reflected who she was as a person and as a brand. :)

She cracked me up when she filled out her Creative Brief – saying her least favorite color was baby pink because it just really got on her nerves and she was once voted wittiest/class clown in high school. *L*  It was a fun project and I think we ended up with something that works really well for her and her ROCKIN new website – stop by and take a look!!  :)

Initially, Jenny asked for an updated look on her existing logo – which was her name in a script font, with ‘photography’ in san-serif.  Also, she had been using the ‘J’ graphic you see below as well…   these are a few of the initial concepts…  started simple and worked up to a more complex and versatile look…

Some of my FAV options!!  She really liked the look of circle logos and monograms, so I incorporated that look into a few options for her… but in the end, the one she chose was…

A great look!!  So versatile, with a revolving color scheme… and she totally wanted the ‘hot’ colors to compliment her new website!  Works great in color and black/white or reversed out on a dark background.  Can be used with or without the additional graphic, making her logo such a versatile piece.  The variation in thickness in her name itself adds visual weight and interest and the san-serif font keeps it modern and fresh. :)  Loved how it came out!  I also did a quick business card and letterhead design for her…

It was fun picking back up my design tools and thinking through the challenge of it!  So, thank you to Jenny for letting me ‘go with it’ and being the PERFECT client!!!  You rock! :)

the only man who’s ever set my spirit free…| Anna’s Trash the Dress | Savannah, GA Wedding Photographer

March 20, 2010

Oh my Anna.  She’s a firecracker for sho!  When we were planning our little Trash the Dress Session, her only request was to include a bottle of Jack Daniels and an old barn.   *L*  You have to know this girl’s sense of humor to ‘get’ it.  She was planning on surprising her hubby with a picture of her rocking out her cowboy boots and some Jack – he’d LOVE it, I’m sure!  Well, we searched and searched and could not find a single barn in Charleston.  Not. A. Single. One.  What is it about other parts of the freakin country??  They don’t have dirt roads, fields and barns around every corner??  Gimmee south GA anyday!  But we made the most of the situation and found an overgrown field to shoot in – of course, it was practically DARK by the time we got there, but we had fun anyway. :)

Luvs ya Anna!!  You and your bottle of Jack! *L*

Anna- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOU!!!!!!  You’re totally my gal….  can’t wait for the next gal’s weekend – if you think our hubby’s will allow it!!! ;)  *L*
